Gingerbread house raises almost $600!
For Zac’s grandmother Marylou, one of the wonderful things about doing fortnightly cake stalls outside Woolworths Mawson is the generosity of strangers.
This was so apparent when a passer by, Natalie, saw Marylou’s stall and offered to make a gingerbread house for Bricks & Smiles to use as a Christmas fundraiser.
Hours of work later, Natalie produced the incredible gingerbread house (pictured) complete with Santa’s legs protruding from the chimney. An added touch was that it was filled with lollies.
The gingerbread house raffle raised a grand total of $578 for Bricks & Smiles, which will fund more than one grant of LEGO for a child undergoing oncology treatment. The raffle was won by Melissa (pictured below).
Bricks & Smiles and Marylou are so grateful for Natalie’s generous donation of her time and gingerbread house making expertise to raise this money. It has brought some happiness to a child facing the difficulty of a cancer diagnosis. And thank you to all who bought tickets!
