Meals from the Heart 2024

April 3rd would have been Zach 13th birthday.

Though Zach succumbed to rhabdomyosarcoma in May of 2022, his vibrant spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

To honour Zach’s memory on his birthday Rebecca and Jim, arranged for family and friends to participate in the Ronald McDonald House Meals from the Heart Programme. Together, they prepared a special schnitzel dinner, one of Zach’s favourite meals, for young patients and their families staying at @rmhcgws .

This behind the scenes experience provides participants with an in depth overview of the workings of the House, and it is the perfect forum for corporate and philanthropic teams to prepare meals, serve them and clean up afterwards, while meeting the families and young patients staying on premises - all under the watchful eye of Chef Lachlan.

Zach’s remarkable family has established @bricksandsmiles , an impactful and meaningful initiative dedicated to providing Lego sets for young patients and funding pediatric cancer research.

If you would like to support this incredible cause and honour Zach’s memory, please consider donating to Bricks and Smiles. Every contribution makes a difference in the lives of children battling cancer.

Thank you for joining his family in spreading love, hope, and smiles in Zach’s memory.
