Thank you Red Hill Primary School!
Marylou Minty (Zac’s grandmother) reports about a fantastic school fundraiser recently:
“At the end of term 3 Red Hill Primary School held a Bricks and Smiles event. This event was an idea from Naomi Chun whose partner Matthew Fisher, passed away from the same rare sarcoma (cancer) that Zac Minty died from in 2022. Naomi and Matthew’s daugters are students at Red Hill Primary.
The SRC invited me to speak to them to explain how Bricks and Smiles works. I told them it provides grants for any kid in Australia who was having chemotheraphy treatment for their cancer. The grants fund their dream Lego. The SRC decided to have a build your own creative Lego dream. Over 150 students created the most amazing structures and brought them in to school - transporting such LEGO creations to school was in itself an amazing feat! On the ‘Bricks & Smiles Day’ each class wore a different colour or came dressed as LEGO charcters or bricks. Over $800 was raised on the day.
Thank you Naomi, and Red Hill Primary School for your support, energy, enthusiasm and creativity. You are really helping some kids going through tough times”
